Wanting to eat healthier, but don’t know where to begin? Need tips finding healthy groceries on a budget? Allendale County Hospital is offering free nutrition education and healthy cooking classes led by Clemson Health Educator, Hannah Long, right here in the hospital cafeteria after hours (classes start at 2pm) beginning Thursday, February 13th, 20th, and 27th. Using Instacart Fresh Funds and EBT SNAP for healthy food,
Step 1. Sign up for an Instacart account
This video helps show how to sign up for Instacart and place your first order. First, you'll learn how to create an Instacart account by visiting www.instacart.com/signup and sign up with your email address, Google, or Facebook authentication. You can also download the Instacart app on iOS or Android devices.
Step 2. How to use Fresh Funds
This video helps show how to use Instacart Fresh Funds. Fresh Funds are part of a Food is Medicine program available to eligible Medically Tailored Grocery & Produce Prescription program participants that allows providers like our local hospital to help share the cost of following a prescribed diet. Recipients of Fresh Funds can redeem via a digital code and shop for eligible categories on Instacart.
*Fresh Funds can also be designed to be one-time usage, auto-reloading, and have set expiration dates.
Step 3. How to use EBT SNAP with Instacart
Learn how to use your EBT SNAP on Instacart. Instacart has pioneered online SNAP benefits to make grocery delivery more accessible across retailers. Try it today, to help make healthy food access possible even in our area around Allendale County!
